About

Jim Bren

I started out doing tech support at a friend's ISP. Most recently I stood up IT operations for a multi-state manufacturer: built the function from zero, deployed Jira Service Management across the organization, and ran a multi-state fiber rollout. In between I grew a three-person helpdesk into a twelve-person bilingual team, owned a CRM implementation end to end, and ran incident and change management inside a regulated lender. On paper it looks scattered. It isn't.

The range is the point. The environments couldn't have been more different: a nationwide mortgage lender, manufacturing operations, a provider juggling dozens of clients. The underlying task was always the same. Identify what's broken, build robust but flexible frameworks that fix it, improve performance, and leave room to grow. Own the workflow end to end.

Most IT projects don't fail on the technology. They fail because no one on the inside is accountable from the first requirement to after go-live. I've seen it happen over my whole career. I've fixed it mid-cycle. I've fixed it after go-live. I've prevented it from happening at all.

Brentech is one person: me. When the work calls for a specialist I have people I trust, but they answer to me, and I answer to you. One point of accountability, start to finish. A client once called me the one throat to choke, then complained he never got to use it. That's the job.
